Arrivals & Dismissal

Arrivals
3K
All 3K students will enter the main entrance in front of the school and be taken directly to their classrooms for Sign-In.
Pre-Kindergarten
All pre-kindergarten students will enter through the main entrance at the front of the school. They will line up in the gym.
Kindergarten – Fifth Grade
All students in grades kindergarten through five will enter through the schoolyard and head into the cafeteria.
Dismissal
3K – Pre-K
All parents will enter through the main entrance and pick up in the Cafeteria.
Kindergarten – Third Grade
Students will be dismissed from the School Backyard, weather permitting. Grades K–2 will line up against the Annex Mini Building and Third Grade will line up at the start of the Mural.
Fourth – Fifth Grade
Students will be dismissed from the gymnasium exit 2, located to the left of the school entrance.
Attendance & Policies
Attendance
Coming to school every day and on time is essential for academic success. Students with 100% attendance for the month receive a certificate and prizes. Classes with the highest attendance each month are treated to a pizza party.
Lateness
School begins at 8:00 AM. Students who arrive after the gate closes at 8:01 AM are considered late and must enter through the main entrance on Franklin Avenue.
Early Pick-Up
If you must pick up your child early, please do so by 2:00 PM. Students will not be released after 2:00 PM. For emergencies, call by 1:30 PM so your child can be ready: (718) 589-3058 Ext #0.
Inclement Weather
During arrivals, students in grades K–5 will still arrive through the backyard and be directed to the Cafeteria. During dismissal, students will be separated by grade and taken to the Auditorium and/or the Gymnasium. Staff will direct families to designated pick-up areas.
Please arrange for your child to be picked up promptly at 2:20 PM. In case of emergency delay, contact the main office immediately.
Breakfast
Served from 7:30 AM to 8:00 AM. All children must leave the cafeteria by 7:55 AM. Submit NYC Student Meal Applications to participate.
Lunch
3K & Pre-K students are served all meals in their classrooms. K–5 students receive a variety of meals including vegan/vegetarian options. Milk, juice, and water available daily.
Recess
Outdoor recess unless raining or below 32 degrees. Please dress your child appropriately and label outerwear with their name. Comfortable shoes/sneakers required.
